How We Think

Each student is unique.  They come to us with their own set of goals and dreams for college and beyond.  At TCC, we don’t dive right in with an impersonal list of colleges.  We take the time needed to get to know each student.  Through formal and informal assessment tools and many one-on-one conversations we come to know each student’s personality type, interests, abilities, and values. Through this process, we help students and families articulate what is important to them.  Through this process, students get to know themselves better.  This is the beginning of the college planning process.  

TCC is committed to the goal of identifying colleges that are good fits for each student.  A college is a good fit if it meets the student’s criteria on four factors: academics, social, financial, and future goals.  The college search phase builds on the quantitative and qualitative data we collected during the planning phase.  We conduct thorough research into colleges to craft a unique list of colleges that fit each student’s criteria.  

TCC believes a well-planned, strategic application process helps alleviate stress from the endeavor.  We work closely with each student on the components of their applications, and manage the strategy and timeline for every application.
